Yixing Teaware
Chinese Yixing teapots have been around since the Sung Dynasty and are considered to be the best brewing vessel for tea. Each unique, handmade teapot has the artist’s chop mark (signature) on the bottom. They are made from the “purple clay” found in Yixing, China (lead free) and most teapots have strainer holes built in the spout to prevent the leaves from pouring into your cup. Yixing teapots absorb the aroma and flavors of the tea and because of their “seasoning” affect make your tea more flavorful over time.
